To celebrate Arduino Day 2014 we are joining forces with Furtherfield to run a FREE event at Furtherfield Commons in Finsbury Park! Across the first part of the day we will be running 3 free workshops, one for kids, one for young people and another for adults. Please see the schedule for the workshops, as well as more details below:

10:00 – 11:00 – Intro workshop for kids (9-12 years old)
11:30 – 12:30 – Intro workshop for young people (13-18 years old)

Kids Workshop:
In this workshop you will learn:
- How to get Arduino and Scratch talking to each other.
- How to program in the Scratch.
- Working with components like LEDs, switches, LDRs and potentiometers.
To attend this workshop you will need:
- A laptop with the latest version of Arduino installed on it. Please note, if you are a Windows user, you will also need to install the drivers for Arduino Uno. There is guidance for this on the Arduino website.
- You will also need to download S4A , which is a Scratch modification.
Each workshop ticket is for one child. Parents and guardians accompanying children are invited to stay during the workshop.
Young People Workshop and Adults workshop:
Adults Workshop is Now Fully Booked
For the workshops for young people and adults we will purely be using the Arduino environment, but will also be demonstrating how you can use it on your Raspberry Pi! We will be starting from the beginning in how to use the Arduino programming environment to write sketches to upload to the board, as well as covering how to build circuits on a breadboard.
In this workshop participants will learn:
- The basics of making an electrical circuit.
- How to program in the Arduino Environment.
- Working with components like LEDs, switches, piezos and potentiometers.
To attend this workshop you will need:
- A laptop with the latest version of Arduino installed on it. Please note, if you are a Windows user, you will also need to install the drivers for Arduino Uno. There is guidance for this on the Arduino website.
Showcase:
