Codasign is hiring new workshop instructors and assistants! We teach interactive technologies to artists in a number of galleries around London - adults along with children between the ages of 6 and 12. Are you confident with programming environments like Processing and Scratch? Or perhaps basic electronics like Arduino, soft circuits and MaKey MaKey are more your thing? If these platforms are up your street, why not apply?
The Kinect is a depth camera which means beyond being a simple USB video camera, it can tell how far away objects are. When combined with the OpenNI library, it is a powerful tool that can track people within a space and even track limbs like arms and legs. In this workshop you’ll use the Kinect with Processing to track people and create interactive augmented reality installations.
Scratch is a programming environment that is easy to use and created with children in mind.
MaKey MaKey is a kit that lets you turn anything into a controller and easily talks with Scratch.
Let your imagination go wild!
Children are invited to attend this workshop with an accompanying adult - and one adult can accompany up to 3 children. During this workshop, the children will practice using computational thinking and interactive design in creative projects through a variety of activities. The adults will even play a key role in these activities. Each adult should bring a laptop with the Scratch environment installed, but if this is a problem, just let us know by contacting us at info@codasign.com.
